“I was part of all the resolutions that the commission made after critically discussing them. In all the meetings that i attended, i was part of the decisions, ” he said adding that all the commissioners responded postiveto the release of rhe presidential electoral results.

He further said that rhe decisions to sign presidential results after announcement of results was reached after the commissioners agreed. ” we commissioners signed results sheets after announcement of the results. We failed to sign on the day because it was very late as such we had to sign the papers the following morning. We had discussed before and the chair said it was late and did not want to labour us. So we agreed to sign in the morning after results were annouced,” he said

He also said that the decisions to use tippex was made to avoid infringing rights of presidential candidates as the issue of the tipex was realised when one of the presidential candidayes was leading.

” I took part in all decisions that the commission took. I at some point questioned why tippex was used and duplicate sheets were used. I told my fellow commisioners that we were being cheated. I asked that we should not continue receiving those results. ” said Banda adding that all commissioners had no access to the results management system as they were going through the tally sheets manually.
